Vibe
Conference structure with a heavy social calendar bolted on: speed networking and a full keynote day at one end, braais, beach volleyball, quiz night, karaoke and a villa pool party at the other. The Khayelitsha community day and the Africa Pitch Competition, where founders from previously disadvantaged backgrounds compete for a grant, are built into the week rather than parked on the side.

The area

Cape Town in February, the back end of the South African summer. The week moves around the city rather than sitting in one venue — a yacht brunch off the Atlantic Seaboard, a community day in Khayelitsha, morning hikes and beach evenings — and closes with a weekend out in the Winelands.

Things to do nearby

Nomads come for the exchange-rate value against the dollar and euro, an established coworking and coliving scene, and a setting that packs beaches, mountains, and wine country into a short drive; the safety and load-shedding trade-offs are part of the calculus.

About

Nomad Week calls itself one part conference, one part festival: a week in Cape Town run by Work Wanderers and Pangea, and 2027 is the third edition. The Conference Ticket covers the welcome mixer, the opening ceremony and speed networking, a conference day of keynotes, panels and the Africa Pitch Competition, a coworking week with daily workshops, wellness activities, evening socials, the villa pool party and a closing rooftop party. Accommodation not included — book separately; the yacht brunch, the Winelands day out and the Winelands weekend away are add-ons booked separately. The ticketed programme runs February 17 to 26, and the organiser's own description gives the festival as 17 to 28 February. The venue is still to be announced. Disclosure: Caroline Lupini, who runs colivingDB, is part of the Pangea team.
