Vibe
Intense and social rather than productive. The organisers say plainly that it is not the week to launch a product — parallel activities run from early morning to late evening, and previous attendees describe it as one of the best weeks of their lives rather than a working week. The crowd is a mix of nomads, remote workers and founders, and attendees themselves run a good share of the program through the unconference slots.

The area
Bansko sits in the Pirin mountains in southwest Bulgaria, best known as a winter ski town and considerably quieter in June. The main stage and most festival venues are within walking distance of the town centre, with transport laid on for anything further out, and parking is easy in the summer months. Sofia Airport is the nearest gateway.

Things to do nearby
Bansko built its nomad reputation on rock-bottom cost of living for the EU, a ski season followed by summer hiking in Pirin National Park, and one of the longest-running coliving communities in Europe.
Old Town — cobblestone streets, cheap local food, nomad-fest hub in summer
Gondola area — closer to ski slopes, more hotels, quieter off-season
Central Bansko — main coworking spaces, restaurants, central for daily errands
Getting around
Bansko's center is walkable; no train service, so a car or taxi covers trips to the gondola area or Sofia; airport transfer to Sofia is about 2 hours by car or shuttle.

About
Bansko Nomad Fest takes over a Bulgarian mountain town for a full week each June, running Sunday to Sunday. The week mixes a curated conference track, community-led unconference sessions that any attendee can propose and host, a morning wellness program, and an evening lineup in the town park that runs from speed dating and karaoke through to the bonfire night and the pool party at Pulse Terme. The 2025 edition drew 800+ attendees and 50+ speakers. Accommodation not included — book separately; the festival's Where to Stay page points at five colivings in town, apartment rentals from about €300 a month, and hotels from around €170 for the festival week. Meals are not included either, and the organisers do not provide Wi-Fi at the venues, though the town square and cafés have free access. Sofia Airport is the closest gateway, about two and a half hours out by bus or transfer. Tickets are online only, non-refundable, and convert to app credit rather than cash if you cannot attend.
